you seem to be interested in new technologys and gadgets (eg- digital doormat and tiny pcs that run vista. Maybe an idea for the dissertation would be to research this further and compair the levels of engagement and interactivity involved within different new media gadgets (my guess is that the newer inventions have different and more exciting ways of engaging and interacting the user). YOu could compair this with inventions of a similar kind made 10-20 years ago?

Looking at your blog it appears you are interested in latest minature technology as with the worlds smallest pc's, such as fugitsu who claimed they have developed the worlds smallest windows vista operating system. And VIA EPIA PX 10000 Pico ITX, tiny motherboard designed for ultra compact embedded pc's. Every thing is becoming smaller and lighter and what was once a static object which couldnt be easily transorted is now being made portable. Maybe this an angle you may like to explore.
Im not good at this sort of thing as you may be able to tell, but I love the digital doormat finding, why dont you write your disertation on that!
